Having successfully completed various projects for Southlands
High School, Innova Design Solutions was Southlands first point of
call when designing the interiors for a new build. Innova's aim, as
with all our projects, was to create exciting and dynamic interiors
that inspire both pupils and staff. And we succeeded!
(Again!)
The new and extensive build consists of Six Science labs, an IT
room, an Auditorium, Prep Rooms, Offices and a Reception. No job is
too big for Innova! The school requested Innova to create
innovative learning spaces to maximise interactivity and
learning.

| Innova created the science labs using their revolutionary "Hot
Corners" design to create inspirational and flexible learning
spaces for both theory and practical. Storage was a major concern
for Southlands and Innova solved this by creating vast storage
spaces integrated into the desk units whilst maximising space
without compromising on design. Velstone, a solid surface,
fabricated by Innova, was used to create a modern yet durable look
throughout the labs. With the use petrol coloured laminate and
flashes of aluminium, Innova created striking new Labs with both
practical and visual appeal. |

The IT room was designed with "saw tooth" desking to maximise
the user's work space whilst making the room manageable for the
teacher. Southlands requested additional space for theory work
which was solved by Innova's unique "donut design" which contains a
central space for group work and student interaction.
The impressive Auditorium, which seats 59 students, was designed
with teaching in mind. The tiered seating allows students to see
the teaching area at all times. Plinth lights on the central
benching and tiers complete the auditorium providing a dramatic
finish.
